VICKI KAY HEILIG SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Vicki Kaye Heilig
On May 2, 2007, Ex-Historian General (2002-2004) and long-time District of Columbia Division President Vicki Kaye Heilig passed away in her hometown of Salisbury, North Carolina.
Although Vicki was not a Virginia Daughter, we gladly claimed her as one of our own. Vicki was a frequent attendee at Division events and conventions, and, by virtue of her position as DC Division President, she was a familiar presence at the annual July commemoration of the Battle of First Manassas co-hosted by the two Divisions. She also drew us to her side of the river twice every year — once in January to remember the birth of Robert E. Lee in Statuary Hall at the U.S. Capitol and again in June to celebrate the birth of Jefferson Davis at the Confederate Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery.
Vicki's friends may wish to remember her by contributing to the General Organization's Vicki K. Heilig Memorial Scholarship Fund (intended for a graduate student in Confederate studies at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University). Make checks payable to Treasurer General UDC and mail to the United Daughters of the Confederacy Business Office, 328 N. Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220-4009 — be sure to indicate the scholarship on the memo line of your check.
